What is actually in Claude for Small Business
A plugin that runs your Monday brief, closes your books, and drafts proposals from voice memos, approved by you first.
Claude for Small Business is not a chatbot you talk to when you have a question. It is a set of workflows that watch your business and do the boring parts, then hand you the result to approve before anything goes out the door. We run it inside our own stack, so this is not a page we read once and summarized.
Here is what it does.
The workflows
Anthropic ships six categories of workflow inside the plugin: Monday brief, close books, proposals, leads, marketing, and build agents.
Monday brief is the one most owners will feel first. Set it up once and every Monday morning it posts to Slack: your cash position, weekend sales broken out by channel, what is committed for the week ahead, anything sitting on a watch list, and the one thing that needs your attention today. You wake up to a status report instead of building one.
Close books does the reconciliation work against your processors, flags duplicate charges and anything left uncategorized, and produces a P&L and a cash forecast. This is the task most owners push to the end of the month because it is tedious, not because it is hard.
Proposals is the one that maps straight onto an AV or smart home shop. You walk a job, record a voice memo in the truck, and Claude turns it into a proposal using your own templates and your own past pricing. No rebuilding the same scope document from scratch every time.
Leads qualifies an inbound inquiry, drafts a reply with your actual calendar availability, and logs it to your CRM. Marketing stages a content calendar with captions ready for you to approve. Build agents lets you put together a custom workflow for a tool that is not covered by the others.
What it connects to
The plugin reads and writes to the tools you already run: QuickBooks, Xero, Shopify, Stripe, Gusto, HubSpot, Canva, Gmail, Google Drive, DocuSign and Apollo, plus Zapier for anything outside that list. Anthropic counts more than 25 tools in total. Nothing executes without you approving it first, that is the design, not a caveat.
What owners are getting out of it
The page backs this up with named results, not vague testimonials. Rebel Cheese co-founder Kirsten Maitland says the reconciliation work recovered about $180,000 in shipping overcharges her business had been quietly absorbing. Blackfyre founder Pedro Rubio describes a task that used to eat 120 hours now taking five minutes. Liberty Trailers CFO Ashley Wells says dashboards that used to take weeks or months to build now come together in a day or two.
Every one of those is the same shape of problem: work an owner knows needs doing, that never gets prioritized because there is always something louder on the calendar.
Why an AV shop owner should care specifically
Walk-throughs and proposals are where most AV and smart home shops lose the most margin. You do a great walkthrough, then the proposal sits for four days because someone has to sit down and rebuild it from a blank template. By the time it goes out, the client has already talked to two other integrators. The proposal workflow here is built to close that gap between the walkthrough and the quote landing in the client's inbox.
What to do this week
- Install the plugin on a paid Claude plan and connect one tool you already use daily, QuickBooks or your CRM is the easiest starting point.
- Turn on the Monday brief and let it run for two weeks before you judge it. The value shows up once you stop manually pulling that data yourself.
- Record one voice memo from your next walkthrough and see what proposal comes back before you build the next one by hand.
- Set an approval habit: review what Claude drafts every morning for the first two weeks, then loosen the leash once you trust what it hands you.
We run this plugin ourselves and are happy to walk you through what to connect first for a shop your size, free 30 minutes at cal.com/obsessed-ai/30min.
