Adobe Arrives in Gemini, Adds Acrobat to Claude

Adobe put Photoshop, Lightroom, Express and Firefly inside Gemini, and added Acrobat and new editors to the Claude plugin, both Sept 24.

Adobe shipped two updates on September 24: its creative tools now work inside Gemini for the first time, and the Adobe for Claude plugin gained Acrobat tools plus hands-on editors. Both rolled out worldwide the same day, no new purchase required.

What shipped

Inside Gemini, a user describes what they want, such as enhancing a product photo, building a marketing asset, or customizing an Express template, and Gemini calls the right Adobe tool.

On the Claude side, Adobe was already available through the Adobe for Claude plugin. September 24 added Acrobat for the first time: deleting, combining or splitting PDF pages, redacting sensitive text, converting PDFs to other formats. Claude also gained an interactive PDF editor for reordering pages and editing text, with a Document Review skill that drops recommendations into the editor itself. A new layer-based Express editor lets someone change one image, line of copy, or color in a design without regenerating the whole thing. The plugin now spans Acrobat, Express, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom, InDesign and Adobe Stock, on desktop, mobile and web, inside Claude and Claude Code.

Why an owner should care

Most small businesses already pay for Adobe, Gemini, or Claude, often more than one. This update lets those tools talk to each other without a separate license standing between an idea and the finished file. A property photo, a proposal PDF, a social graphic can move from rough to done inside a chat window. The Acrobat piece matters most for anyone who lives in PDFs: redacting a number before a document goes out, splitting a contract into the pages different people need, or getting a second set of eyes on it through Document Review before it ships.

What it looks like inside a shop

Picture a shop that just finished an install and wants the after photos to look as good as the pitch deck did. Instead of exporting to Photoshop and hunting for the right adjustment, someone describes the shot inside Gemini or Claude and gets a cleaned-up, on-brand image back. When a signed proposal needs to go out as three documents, one for the client, one for the GC, one for the crew, Acrobat inside Claude splits it, and pricing gets redacted from the version the trades see. If your team already drafts proposals with tools like the ones covered in Claude for small business, this is the same instinct extended into images and PDFs.

Any service business hits the same wall: a redacted invoice, a flyer built without opening Illustrator, intake forms organized before a meeting.

What to do this week

  • If you pay for Gemini, open Personal Intelligence, connect Adobe, and try one real task: cleaning up a photo or building a marketing asset from a brief description.
  • If you use Claude, open the Adobe for Claude plugin and test the new Acrobat tools on a real PDF you would otherwise handle by hand.
  • Compare the time either saves against your current workaround: a freelancer, a slow export, an app nobody remembers the login for.
  • If your real bottleneck is turning a walkthrough into a priced document, see how an AI proposal engine handles that step end to end.

Questions owners ask

Do I need a paid Adobe subscription to use this?

Neither announcement names a price. Adobe access inside Claude works as a guest or with a free Adobe account. Check your Gemini and Claude plans for what your tier includes.

Does this replace hiring a designer?

No. It removes the wall between an idea and a usable file for routine work: a cleaned-up photo, a resized graphic, an organized PDF. Real brand work still benefits from a person who does it daily.

Is my data safe going through a chat tool instead of Acrobat directly?

Worth asking Adobe, Google and Anthropic directly before running anything sensitive through it. This post reports what shipped, not a security review. Source: Adobe comes to Gemini and expands what you can do in Claude, Adobe Blog, September 24, 2026
